CHOCTAW COUNTY
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION
The Choctaw County Economic Development Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote business and community development through coordinated effort of its membership. The Foundation membership includes industry, small business, utility providers, retail merchants, churches, and individuals. This public-private partnership was created to:
- foster retention, expansion, and competitiveness of our existing industries and businesses
- promote the formation of new businesses
- assist with the location and expansion of industry and business in Choctaw County, and
- build upon a social, civic, cultural, recreational, and economic environment that will encourage growth of the local economy, attract visitors, and improve the quality of life of the residents of Choctaw County.

To assist new business and industry clients in their decision process and facilitate their location in Choctaw County, the Foundation provides:
- data on available sites and buildings
- assistance in securing grants and utilizing finance programs to match the needs of the client
- information on tax abatements and incentives
- up-to-date demographic data on the area
- tailored training programs through teamwork with Holmes Community College
- information on the local labor force and wage rates
- collaboration with local utilities regarding provision of services and rate information
- coordination with other economic development partners such as the Mississippi Development Authority, Tennessee Valley Authority, North Mississippi Industrial Development Association, utilities, and elected officials
- assistance with hiring new employees through collaboration with the local WIN Job center
- information about the local community such as schools, activities, civic clubs, etc.
Membership is available for both individuals and businesses.
