ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Quality of Life

Choctaw County is serious about providing the best quality of life for its citizens.  Ideally situated between Mississippi State University and Interstate 55 in north central Mississippi, Choctaw County is rural living at its best.  The natural beauty of the area and wide variety of available activities provide an exemplary setting to raise a family.

The high caliber of the school system, upgrades and expanded services at the hospital, and an emphasis on civic activities coupled with a strong commitment to seeking new business and supporting existing industry exemplify our strong pro-business philosophy.  A proposed lake development of 1,200 to 1,500 acres with planned “smart growth” developments will further enhance the quality of life in the area.
